The consequences of wars, schemes, and the destruction caused by people who crave power are paid for by the ordinary people who lost everything they had, including their homes, families, and lives.
While some countries exercise the rights of their citizens and experience the advantages of modern civilization, others are left in despair, not knowing where their next meal or aid will come from. Istanbul-based photographer Uğur Gallenkuş created a photo series that showcases the duality of this world and the unjust fate that children must face due to the decisions made by the powerful and the greedy.
Gallenkuş used his talent to create photos that combine two images from different regions of the world, each showing the vastly different lifestyles of children. This series sends a message to the world that every child deserves a proper childhood, free from war, injury, shell shock, and rape. The future of this world is being stripped from innocent children, and this photo series brings out the message that the world needs to take action to ensure that every child is given a chance to live a proper life.
