Reaching the grand old age of 100 is a milestone that many dream of, but few are blessed to experience. For Vivian Thomas of Lake Crystal, Minnesota, her 100th birthday was made even more special by a coincidence that saw her great-great granddaughter, Eloise, turn 1 on the same day.
On May 21, 2022, Vivian and Eloise celebrated their birthdays together with a joint party. Family members shared pictures of the two generations together, with Eloise wearing a peach romper covered in rainbows and Vivian donning a blue floral printed top and silver earrings. The photo of the two of them together has melted hearts online and serves as an incredible keepsake for the family.
When asked about the secret to her long life, Vivian imparted some wisdom: “No smoking, no drinking, and no candy.” This simple advice, along with a loving family and the ability to find enjoyment in things that require little to no energy, such as reading and listening to birds, may have contributed to her reaching the ripe age of 100.
