One Man’s Heartwarming Way to Give His Dying Dog One Last Adventure

As pet owners, we all want to give our furry friends the best life possible. But when a pet is diagnosed with a terminal illness, it can be heartbreaking to know that their time is limited. Carlos Fresco knew this all too well when his 10-year-old Labradoodle, Monty, was diagnosed with leukemia.

Carlos and Monty had been inseparable, going on countless hikes and walks together. So when Carlos learned that Monty’s leukemia had returned and his days were numbered, he knew he wanted to give his beloved dog one last adventure. Together, they headed to one of their favorite hiking spots: the Pen y Fan in the Brecon Beacons in Wales.

But with Monty’s declining health, Carlos was worried that his dog might not be able to make it to the top of the hill. That’s when he came up with a unique solution: he put Monty in a wheelbarrow and pushed him up the hill.

As they climbed the hill, they caught the attention of many fellow hikers. Carlos says that many people “shed a tear” and expressed sympathy when they learned of Monty’s situation, even offering to help push him up the hill. Carlos remarked that Monty loved all the fuss and attention on his special adventure.

Unfortunately, Monty’s final journey proved to be just that: he passed away on June 21. While no doubt heartbroken by the loss of his beloved dog, Carlos was grateful for the unforgettable final trip they had together. He thanked everyone who was moved by his story for their sympathy, saying “he was truly a special boy.”

This heartwarming story is a reminder of the special bond that exists between humans and their pets. It’s a bond that can never be broken, even by death. Rest in peace, Monty. We’re glad you got one last adventure with your loving owner.
